Hello, new member here doing my homework before I go 'vette shopping. I've been a lurker off and on for years and finally decided to get serious about buying a C5.
My question concerns purchasing long distance. I recently looked at a C5 while south on a trip, the deal fell through when I discovered one headlight didn't open. By the time it was fixed I was out of time to do the deal and had to fly home.
I've found a few cars around the country that I'd love to have, however I'm a little leary of doing a fly and drive if I don't know who I'm buying the car from.
How do most of you protect yourselves when doing a fly and drive deal?
I'm mostly concerned with the condition not being as represented, or finding items (like headlights or modules) that don't work right, then I'm out the price of two one way tickets to get myself back home.

kawils2, thanks for the links. I've been using the search feature to learn about C5's but I couldn't formulate a request that would return the info you found for me.
