12 sec eclipse convertible to c6 corvette convert/switcher
Hello. I'm new to the corvette world with a black 2005 Chevy Corvette C6 z51. I was always told it is THE car to have of american cars and sits right at the top of world cars.
The reason i choose a corvette. I wanted a stock car that is as fast as the car i was driving.
My first car and previous nice car is a UV Blue(the color of blacklights) 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS 2.4l 4cyl convertible that over the years I built into a 12 second turbocharged dream. The car is blue with an unpainted carbon fiber hood, carbon fiber wrapped front lip (it has a lip kit), and a carbon fiber trunk lid and spoiler. If it was a corvette it would be equivalent to the 2011 blue corvette carbon edition.
When I first got my eclipse i joined the eclipse forums and without the board I would not have a 12 second eclipse. I already can tell this board is loaded with good information.
So hey all.
Oh, and my car is stock and has navigation. I plan on interfacing an iPod to it and someday soon installing an exhaust and intake; that is if I can find one that is not much louder than stock. A surprise to even myself being a tuneup car enthusiast is I actually really like the stock exhaust. It is dead silent, but the engine roars at full throttle.
In stock form a C6 Corvette can go to the 1/4 and beat a lot of built cars, then go to the auto cross and get a better time than even some track tuned cars and at the end of the day it gets 30+mpg highway and can reach speeds close to 200mph if need be. All of that wrapped into an intimidating yet sleek package with a factory warranty. I don't think there's a better combo honestly. Especially nowadays C6 Vettes can be had for a real bargain.
Right now I'm working on figuring out exactly what I need for my first enhancements.
I am going to upgrade the entire exhaust, header to tailpipe. I want to keep the exhaust as quiet as possible while still extracting as much performance as reasonably possible. Trying to figure out which parts I need.
Also a somewhat subtle change, I'm trying to figure out the easiest way if possible to add xm/sirius to the stock Bose + navigation stereo and also an iPod (or at least line level aux) input.
