I found this site (looks pretty cool) researching Corvettes and think between the texters and the drunks I am about ready to take the step towards a C5; not feeling comfortable on the bike anymore, I think it is time to "wrap my a$$ in fiberglass". A Corvette should fill the void left by the bike, right? We always have enjoyed riding out west, is it possible to take these cars on long trips? My bike has always been a travel toy, can this be done in a Vette? Always loved getting lost on country roads. Well anyway greetings from Wisconsin (Go Pack!)
Thank you,
Dan
Welcome to the Forum and welcome to the new way of life. Vettes are alot of fun and you will meet alot of new people (just as you did with the Harley). The C5 is great for long trips; comfortable, fast, and pletty of storage space. Test drive a few and you will be hooked. Good luck with the search, let us know if we can help and let us know what you get.
Welcome to the Forum!!!!!!!!!!! Lots of people travel in Vettes. Unless you are one of the few who can't get comfy in the Vette seats it's a great way to go. Good luck with your search, purchase and enjoy the Forums.
Welcome to the forum. Having a bike is not mutually exclusive of having a Vette. There is time for both (my problem is room in the garage for both :-) )
Welcome to the Forum!! I have both.... I love 'em both... My 04 Vette has 32k miles (but I just got it last December with 23k miles) and my 00 Road King has 98k miles (bought new)...
2 American Icons--what could possibly be better??
Good luck with your search--you will LOVE the C5...
Don't sell the bike. You'll regret it. As an Ultra Classic rider and a Vette driver I can tell you I've felt the same way and done the same thing, only to end up buying another bike. When I start to feel like I'm flirting with death on Houston freeways, I park the bike for a couple of months and then when I start riding again its fresh and fun all over again. I'll leave the Harley and the Vette to my kids, but I don't ever plan to sell them. Welcome to the forum.

My feeling exactly! The idiots on cell phones and other careless drivers robbed me of the pleasure of riding my street bike.
Bought my first "vette, a '93 C4 Coupe and really enjoyed it, but later purchased my '04 Coupe and found it to be a much better engineered car. Really no comparison. ( The C4 was an auto and the C5 is a 6 speed)
The "vette is quite well suited for road trips and I am going on a 2000 mile round trip to Chicago next month.
You will also love the handling on back roads. I took my street bike to The Dragons Tail at Deals Gap, NC and really enjoyed the 318 curves in about 5.6 miles. Saw a lot of "Vettes, Mini Coopers, and Miatas making the run while I was there. Can't wait to do it in my C5.
You can find a wealth of information on the forum and I know you will find just the car you are looking for.
