I'm working on the purchase of a 65 coupe. The gentleman that is the current owner needs a little persuasion to sell it to me. It needs a full up resto, been stored for 30 some years in his damp basement. Frame a little questionable and sitting on 4 flats. I've been on the forum and have gotten some usefull tips, thanks again all. I'm an aircraft mechanic by trade, a Desert Storm vet, have 1 wife and 3 children. My first car was a vw bug, suffered in it for 2 western NY winters. Joined the USAF in 84 and bought a 62 ImpalaSS, multiple speeding tickets to follow. Traded the SS for kids about 13 years ago and been doin the frugile gas miser thing ever since. Started taking the wife to car shows a few years back and recently bought her a karmann ghia(sure not to get a speeding ticket in that one). Now this 65 vette has appeared, not really on the market for sale, but owner considering some retirement cash. Being patient with him. Look forward to more action on the forum and also looking forward to the snarky comments too!

Welcome aboard. Post some pics of the 65 in the C1 & C2 section for their opinions before you buy. Rusted frames and birdcages are real $$$$$$ problems.
Welcome to the Forum and good luck with that 65 It would be great to get that car out of a basement and back on the road. Thanks for your story I find it interesting to read about a new member.
