Hey guys, I'm completely new to cars in general really. My dad has owned this '79 Corvette since it was new and he slowly let it fall into cosmetic disrepair being a very busy man with 12 children.
Anyway, when I turned 18 I decided to see what I could do to get it presentable for my sister's wedding last August and thus, the project began.
Now the engine is the original although it has some 114,000 miles on it, but the transmission has been rebuilt. It has been repainted once, the original color but the bumpers need repair as they were involved in a very slight accident when my dad took it out on ice. Mostly just cracked paint.
Just bought a whole corvette that had been wrecked and am currently salvaging it for whatever I can get. Got some great T tops off it, wondering if I can possibly get the carpet but that stuff is tough :/
Here's the pics, lemme know some good beginner tips
Welcome to the Forum!!!!!!!! Congratulations on having a family heirloom Vette and getting it fixed up. Looks great. Good luck with the rest of the project. Enjoy the car and the Forums.
