There's a first time for everything....
And mine, this time is to own a Corvette. WOOOHOOO!!!! Yep, just bought a 2004 Metallic Red C5 with 22K miles and in amazing condition. It's been modded with an intercoled Magna Charger, DynaTech headers, high flow cats, Corsa Exhaust and what feels like an aftermarket clutch. The tan leather interior is perfect as the previous owners kept hideous seat covers. It has both the glass and fiberglass top. To subtly hide the engine mods it has an aftermarket hood that screams visual horsepower. I'm the third owner and the second owner didn't have much info on the mods as they were done by the first. That said they were done by MTI of Houston and though they are no longer in business it does appear that they did a very good job.
The issues that I've found so far:
1. Drivers side window goes off the track when going down. I assume I need to replace the regulator.
2. "tick" at the headers. There is a tick that does go up with the engine RPM but it is a light tick and I swear it sounds like it is coming from the headers. I've had lifters go in other engines and this doesn't sound as severe as those did.
3. New Tires needed. For some reason the rear tires have more wear than the front
. I've ordered a set of Nitto Invo's in the rear.
4. "Service Column Lock" message: Per research from this great message board I've ordered a CLB from Corvettes of Houston.
Future Purchases:
1. Car cover: Threatened the kids within an inch of their life that NO bikes, scooters, skateboards etc are allowed on that side of the garage. Hopefully a good cover will help prevent boo boo's
2. Dyno tune: Just to make sure that it is tuned for my fuel options

Congrats, sounds like you're gonna have some fun. I've had good luck with Corvettes of Houston, they are capable and easy to deal with.
