I walk out into my garage and see my '77 vette and I can hardly believe I finally got a stingray - I can hardly believe that my wife is in full support of this project (I got a vette, she got unlimited pedicures). Anyway, thanks for the forum, I'm sure I'll have a hundred of noob questions for you guys.

Here's my first noob question: what is the key lock on the driver's side for? When I bought it, I thought it was a hood lock, but it has about 4-5 wires going to it. Please don't flame me too bad...LOL

That is how the alarm system is armed. It was on the rear panel until 1973 and then moved to the driver's front fender for 1974-1976, and then integrated into the driver's side door lock in 1977 and continued through the rest of the C3 production.
