New from WI
Wanted to introduce my self to you all before showering you in questions. I just bought a white 84 3 days ago and am starting to work on it already. I paid $1900 for it and it runs great. The interior is worn pretty bad so thats were i am starting. I've never owned a vette so i have no idea how they are supposed to ride...but this thing is rough. As soon as i get my buddies truck off the hoist I'm going to check out the suspension and anticipate replacing every bushing with urethane ones and new shocks. Like i said i've already started with the interior, the color is tan right now but I'm going to change it over to black. Already ordered a new arm rest, new speedometer bezel, new rear hatch center trim panel, new heater control, new console bezel, new lens for the shift indicator, new shift boot, 2 new window switches, and new rear hatch struts. I also added new 13pc weather strip kit, new e-fan temp sending unit, and new tires. I still need to order new carpet, oil pressure sending unit, new visors, new targa top, and find out my options for seats(which will be my first question post). But with all that ordering, I'm driving it as is now, 370 miles on it since i bought it.
As for me, I'm 30 years old, married, one son and I'm a drag racer. I have a 76 nova(for sale) that my dad and i started to build when i was 14. It has a 9.8:1 355(3970010) that runs 12.4's on motor and 11.44 on a 100 shot. I also have a new gen 03 Silverado SS which is the current fastest stock cubed NA in the country at 12.41. God willing.....i will not modify this crossfire motor, but you know how that goes.....

Thanks in advance
Brad

Congratulations on your C4!! C4's have a reputation for a harsh ride, especially with the Z51 suspension. Good luck and have fun with the project. Enjoy the car and the Forums. The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
And congrats for picking a good ride for the money. Not bad at all. Vette Brake and Products should have your suspension parts. Tons of other vendors. They can soften the ride whatever you got. Try to visit Carlisle end of Aug for parts and show.
You might add your city to your profile. Been to Racine lots of times.
I've been working a lot on my buddies silverado ss with a lq9 6.0 bored out to 427...and the tuning is killing me so i haven't worked on the vette to much.
I put it on the hoist to check some things out, and damn. The rear bushings are gone, and i mean that, so that explains the ride. Front bushings are bad but still usable for a little while. I had a brake problem on start up so i checked the check valve at the brke booster and the thing broke as i touched it, so i replaced that...but when i was working on that, three vacuum lines cracked. The one going to the cruise from the tri-fitting, then the one going to the canister and the one going somwhere to the back of the motor. Replaced those lines and she's back on the road again.
Just ordered the new carpet in black and most of my new interior pieces have showed up already also. Seats are the final main item, and i'm leaning towards Corbeau a4 seats in black leather, maybe with a center suede. Didn't want to lose the power options but it looks cheaper to go after market then redoing the stock ones.
I'm from West Bend, but work in the falls and go to mequon all the time as well, so if you see me in the white vette or my blue silverado ss don't be affraid to wave..or race, lol. My buddy with the SS i'm working on now lives in racine, off ryan road, so i'm down there a little bit as well.
How do i know if i got the z51 suspension? Does this help?

Here is a picture of the vette next to my buddies truck
