This has been a sad couple of weeks. My dad passed away 2 weeks ago from cancer. He has an '81 Vette that my Mom is gonna sell to me. I'd like to do a frame off restoration and make it into a show car. Actually, its in great shape already, been garage kept all its life. He bought it slightly used in '82 and had it ever since. This car has been babied. But I want to make it into something special in memory of him, and take it to shows. I will rely on this website quite abit for advice, already seen alot of good information and gorgeous rides. This is actually my 3rd vette, I had a '92 and '94 back in the day. The '94 had a 6 speed, loved that car and kick myself for selling it. Anyway, here is a pic of dads vette:
Welcome to the Forum!!!!!!! Sorry for the loss of your dad. Nice to hear you're going to keep his Vette and make it special as a remembrance to him. Best of luck with the project and enjoy the Forums.
Thanks guys. This car is special because I remember cruising in it (as a passenger) before I could even drive! (I am 44 years old now). The plan is to pass it down to my son someday. He has a ways to go, because he is only 7 now, LOL.
I'd love to do a frame off restoration. It probably doesn't even need one since its been kept in the garage all its life. But just looking around the forum, doesn't look like an easy task.
