I Just got a new front clip and L-88 hood and front bumper put on at a body shop here in orlando florida. I got the car back and the driver side fender is 1 inch lower than the passenger fender and the hood doesn't fit in the clip very good, it humps up about 3/8 of an inch. it was fine before i took it the the body shop. the guy said it's been wrecked before and thats why it doesn't fit right. I would like to know if it was fine before, what went wrong? Did he not install it correctly? If its been wrecked, and It has, but it still looked right before, I just put a new clip and hood and fender on for Peace of Mind, Now the front of my C3 sags and looks croocked from the front view. Does it sound like this guy knows what hes doing or trying to cover up an Instalation error? If the frame is bent slightly would it cause this? The entire front clip is epoxyed on and I think he didnt put it on correct. Has anyone had a similar experience?
Welcome to the Forum!!!!!!! You don't say what year car you're talking about but I'm guessing '68-'73? If yes, then post your question in the C3 General Forum where the members who own them will help you. Good luck. Enjoy the Forums.

Cool Thanks a Bunch! I Have 2, ones a 73 and the other is a 75. The 73 is my immediate driver, the 75 will be the frame off restoration, both customized to my ideas. I'm new at this, but a friend of mine told me to join a forum and get some advice from knowledgable folks with experience, so, Here I Am! I have many questions and am Very Enthused to be a Stingray owner, just Cool *** Cars!!! I'm the only 1 ( Odd Ball) of the bunch with a Vette, but I dig that too. Just a Lotta Curve ***** with this type of vehicle... Its just a Different animal. I'll Post Pics when I'm farmiliar with the process, I'm excited about the projects and look forward to overcoming the Challenges. I'll Keep in touch and post information as I collect it and hope to see many pics of custom vettes. I Love Music and Cars... This is My World!

Its been a Busy Weekend for me, and I Haven't had time to get back to this forum as soon as I'd like to have, but I would like to say Thank You to Everyone who has Welcomed Me, That's Really Cool of You Guys. I spent a few hours at another local Corvette Body Shop after work on Friday. The Owners Name is Tim Burke and He Had Quite a Few C-3's in His Shop that were Prepped and ready to paint or at least real close. They Look Cool in Primer to Me, Cuz You Can See the Raw Shape of the Car, Unhidden by a Great Paint Job... Just My Opioin. I spoke with him about the Body Lines and the Front Clip and Hood Not lining up and If it sounded like the 1st Body Shop Messed up, and He Said Its Highly Likely the Guy just didn't have the Experience to do the Job right. He also said the Front clip could flex a little and be adjusted to accommodate any serious gaps. That's the Good News, the Bad News is it will be around $2,200 to Have the Clip Re-Allighned Correctly. I Already Paid the 1st Guy $1,200 to do it wrong, and don't want him near my Vette again. He is trying to be a Nice Guy, but I don't want him to screw it up more. He said to leave the clip on it and get the frame straightened (The Frame is Not That Damn Crooked... It's Been Bumped around, but not Slammed into a Wall) and If it Cracks the clip (Which is Brand New) fix the Cracks... That Sounds Wrong to Me, Just Sayin? Anyways... I'm gonna mess around with the Picture loading process for a few and try to figure that out to get some pics up. Once again, Thanks to those who said Welcome, I Apprecciate it!!! Talk to Ya'll Soon, Take It Easy...
Welcome to the club........if the car looked good before,it should look the same,in fact better...demand your money back,he will fix it but not put in the same effort as doing it for the 1st time...jmo
