Thanks for the welcome message Bob. And, thanks for your service to our country!
I just joined the forum, but have been a lurker for some time now. You all have helped me make my latest Corvette decision. Thank you!
The verdict:
Just purchased a 2011 Inferno Orange Carbon Z06 on 7/11/11. This beauty is sure to be lucky, and the sound of that 427 is music to my ears. I haven't been in a 427 since that old shaky '69 during high school in 1974. 55 years old is long enough to wait and I sure am glad to be back in the 'Vette game. Wow, this one doesn't shake and rattle like I remember that monster '69. But, I sure loved it at the time.
I'm excited like a little kid to be back in the Corvette. After driving both the Z06 and the ZR1 I just had to get back to the pure low torque rumble of that 427. The ZR1 screams for sure, but that 427 sings on my frequency and I love it. WooHoo! And, the Inferno Orange looks like the sun is shining through from the inside out. I was going to the store for a Black ZR1, but that Orange 427 just "crushed" me.
My sincere and respectful thanks to you guys in Wixom, and you Bob Lutz for putting them together to make magic; and to all you guys in BG for the craftsmanship, caring and dedication on display in my new Carbon Z06. GM, Chevy and we ordinary customers are grateful for your efforts.
I'm looking forward to many years of enjoyment on this forum and with this 427. Thanks to all of you for allowing me join your party.
From Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania I'm now glad to be here and to continue to learn from you masters.
Go Corvette and Go Steelers!
