Hi all, my name is Joe and I have been reading here on the forum for a while and just recently joined. I am a contractor in Afghanistan. I bought my first Vette this past April. I bought while here in Afghanistan from a coworker and only saw a pic from the outside and never saw the rest of it. I got it for the payoff which was less than $30K. I was very excited when I bought it and couldn't wait to return home to see it. Once I was home I was disappointed in what I saw it was horrible shape when compared to how I was told everything was. I was told it had new tires, that was a lie, one of them had a puncture that had the plug in it. The interior needs a lot of work as leather is already faded and the seats need some work. It just wasn't up to Vette standards, but all of that will be changed soon. I couldn't post the pics on here but they are in my album on my profile page.
Hopefully I done this right, I added the photos on Flickr and am trying to post them here so that you can see my Vette.

Welcome to the Forum!!!!!! Sorry to hear the car was misrepresented. Has the "ex" coworker assumed room temp yet? j/k of course. Good luck getting her fixed up, enjoy the car and the Forums.

Yeah I was pretty pissed when I got home and saw it. I am going to get it fixed up and soon it will be back at the top of it's class. I am already looking at redoing the interior and am looking at Caravaggio and APsis right now to see what my options are.
but I bet being somewhere other than Afghanistan will be better.
You ain't lying, I miss being home everyday. I only get to go home about once a year. The rest of the time I am working 12.5 hours a day 7 days a week. I do get other vacations, but generally go to Thailand on those. I can't wait to get back home in May and get in my Vette.

jsuls0130, thank you for the welcome. So far I am loving it here and it is great to be on here with fellow Vette fanatics.
Welcome to the Forum Joe That really sucks that guy took advantage you like that but your car does look nice in the pictures. Hope you enjoy your car.
Thank you I am glad you like the car also. I love the car and I plan on starting the work on it very soon. I want to get my interior done before I go home in May. Would like to do some other work to it before then but don't if I will have all the funds to do it. For now though my priority is the interior. I have to be patient for now and take my time LOL. It is hard to do though.
I am looking to buy a corvette, and wanted to know the best one to get
There is no "Best One" as all Vette's are awesome! From C1 to C6, each one has it's advantages. It all depends on what you are looking for. Check the for sale section of this forum, there are some nice ones for sale there.
