Hello,
My name is Kent, I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Just acquired a 1980 Corvette, formerly owned by a close friend who succumbed to cancer. The car is safely "in the family" so to speak.
The car is L-48 powered, Blue/Blue and in good condition, having only seen some (roughly) 50,000km since '84. The car is a few hundred k from 100,000.
Needs some attention here and there, weatherstrips, inop cruise, an A/C recharge etc. No major changes that I can detect, all factory suspension and a few added goodies like glass roofs, OEM alloy wheels (N90's), power antenna and what appears to be digital display cassette radio from a newer model... '81? The car also has the T-Top bags and the complete exterior T-Top carrier, that quite frankly I'm too chicken to use.... I'd be staring in my rear view mirror waiting for them to fly away!
Glad to see there is a fantastic resource out there for 1st time owners like myself to glean knowledge from... many thanks! I'm a GM parts guy by trade, so if I can be of any help lemme know!!!
Welcome to the Forum!!!!! Nice to see an old Vette stay "in a family" who knows and loves it and glad you're intentions are to make it and keep it right. Best of luck, have fun and enjoy the Forums.
