A childhood dream was recently fulfilled with my purchase of a 1965 Coupe. Driving it across the country was a memorable experience. It is now in a restoration shop to fix a few bugs and for a few more updates. The car has new streetshop underpinnings and a cammed GM crate small block. The interior was redone as original and the paint is a classic color scheme. My mechanic suggested adding EFI and a 6sp for better mileage. I want to be careful not to do too much or redo the efforts of the previous owner. I will post any updates!!
Thanks for the welcome. When the 65 gets finished Im trying to decide whether I want to bring it to SE Asia where I work. All of my associates want me to ship it and see what interest the Asians have in vintage US cars. Im just comtemplating whether Im willing to pay $15k in import duty to satisfy my curiosity. I do see a potential market as a new Corvette would have more than $60k in duty. I will keep the forum posted!
