New and looking
. I've spent the last 4 years custom modding my 2007 LY7 only to find a complete lack of enthusiasm for American V6 performance which in turn creates only expensive 1-off solutions. As I'm a mod nut, it's become a black hole to throw money into and I decided last week enough was enough...it was time to play with the big kids. So, with that, I have decided to start my Corvette experience. I've done some research and narrowed it down to going for a black 2008+ with dual-mode exhaust. I've read quite a few perks the 08 brings to the table over the LS2 C6's and it seems like the way to go, but I would really like some input from those who have experience.
Basically I'm looking for a quality, fast stock car that has modding potential and support. Looks like the LS's have lots of aftermarket support so it really seems like a no-brainer to me. Any good / bad things I need to consider, etc? As far as a timeline is concerned, probably looking at this Winter or Spring next year. Need to find a buyer for the LY7, but then I'm off to the races.
Anyway, looks like this forum has TONS of info so I'm sure I'll be spending the next 4 -6 months reading more than providing input, but I'm looking forward to the journey. Thanks in advance to any who offer advise or just a warm welcome.
Have fun with your research and good luck with your purchase. Briefly stated, the '08's+ really don't have weak points worth worrying about. They are the best of the C6's. Enjoy the Forums. The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
