Ok so new to the forum and still searching. A little info:
I currently live in Hawaii, and why I didn't buy a vette for here, I do not know. I am currently enlisted in the USAF, an airborne linguist, but just found out I am shipping out in Feb for pilot training in Pensacola. I have a beautiful aspiring nurse for a wife and 2 awesome boys, not exactly the vette demographic However, due to my wife being picked up for TCU nursing, she has decided to move to Dallas for the last year of her schooling with the kids so our families can help out.....thus making me a single married man, the perfect vette consumer. I have about 10k saved up for a car and we are leaving our "island SUV" instead of paying the 2.5K to ship it back to the states. I am super excited and I have been trolling this sight for the past week getting an ideas on reasonable prices as well as major quirks associated with buying a 12-14 yr old car, and I am throughly surprised with the reliability of the vette. Long story short, I am sold and might be buying a car as early as Feb when I get a brief 2 week break before attending OTS. I am super excited about the purchase and I hope to join the ranks of people who are always smiling while driving
Pun intended! I was stationed in Hawaii at COMSUBPAC. I also aspired to acquire a Vette as well. I wanted to buy a 1970. I have always considered a vette as a work of art. Each one has it's own little set of charistics. I am currently on my 3rd Vette which is a ZR1 and its actually scarry when you take off traction control. I have enjoyed all of the vetts I have been fortunate enough to own. Good luck and build her to your specs.
