Greetings, just made a deal for my first vette (70 4 speed coupe). My dad had a Riverside red 1960 from when I was 6 months old to when I was in my late 20s, so I grew up around them and have wanted one of my own for quite some time. I do have one small issue that I was hoping someone on the forum might be able to address, the car is in MD. and I am in AL., I've already gotten estimates to ship the car and the only isssue that needs resolved is how to pay for the car without going up there. I'm not comfortable with sending him the money without the title and he isnt gonna put the car on the truck W/O the money (understandably so). If I have to I can fly up over Christmas just to complete the transaction but I'd like to avoid that if I can. Anyone been through this?
Thanks,
Raycedad
Welcome fellow Alabamian. I bought a car from Pittsburgh and paid via paypal. That way there is a record of the transaction and if anything is less than legit you deal with paypal not the seller.
Welcome to the Forum I bought my car from a dealer in Arizona and used paypal like WinstonTheWolf. They put it on the truck and shipped it to Kansas with no issues at all. I hope it works out for you as well as it did for me.
Welcome to CorvetteForum ! You will discover that we like pictures. Here is a link to show you how to post them. It's really easy once you get the hang of it.
Thanks for the great advice, I used Paypal and my 70 will be on a truck on its way to Alabama tomorrow. This site is great, now I'm moving over to the C3 tech forum for advice on the many projects I have lined up such as E brake repair, vacume sys rebuild (headlight doors and wiper door wont go up) roll up window adjustment and factory AC rebuild (all that remains is the AC control dial on the console.) I'll post some pics when it arrives.
Thanks again,
Raycedad
