I remember when I was a lot younger and wanted a corvette so much I dreamed of the day I could own one (actually my mom ran a Ford dealership all of her working life and I could have had any Ford I wanted but for my high school graduation, I opted for a Camaro). I also remember seeing older couples, like my wife and I, cruising around in their cherished vetts and wondered to myself, 'what does an old man and woman need with such a hot car'? Well, to make the long story short, now I know. My wife and I are cruising around in our 4th vette and just like raising kids and being involved in sports, they (corvettes) keep you young. I feel as young as the day I made a committment to own one when I could. Even though I just recently officially joined the Corvette Forum, I have been 'lurking aound in the shadows' trying to learn as much as I could about the Corvette Community as I could. I just recently did some extensive mods on my '08 triple black vert (pics are in an album on my page) but I am waiting to finish my leather wrap and take some quality fotos before posting. I am new, green, and still learning (I still can not figure out how to upload fotos onto a thread or use the smilies), but I will say that some of the finest people I have ever met (and my best friends) are corvette people (maybe someone should do a sociological study on why that is) and I am proud to be a member of your group. Lastly, as fast as we like to go, I think we would all be wise to slow down (at least a little, when we can), enjoy the ride, and make it last as long as we can. Thanks and Best Wishes to all, Coach

Reason: Just saw my mistakes
Thanks guys. I do know there are a lot of fast cars on this forum, but mine is everything I ever wanted in a corvette. When it is finished soon, I'll try to post some quality fotos and give credit where credit is due, but let's start with Brian Reckert of Reckert performance Tuning in Cedar Park, Texas (a community just northwest of Austin, Texas. He is a master mechanic and tuner, not to mention a superior human being. I know there are a lot of good mechanics, tuners and people in the USofA, but knowing what I know now, if I wanted my car done right from the start, I would take it to Brian no matter what was involved in putting him and my car together. He is that good. Ship it to him. If you must, take a vacation from work and go watch him do it. As prices go, he is really giving his products away compared to most, but even if he was the most expensive, it would be well worth every penny. He really enjoys his work that much. Check him out!
Went to my first car show down at Abuelo's in Southwest Austin on Saturday. Nice cars and even nicer people. I am starting to see what I have been missing out on all my life. Special thanks to Jason Carter aka. 1BadZR1 for inviting me out. He is responsible for the rescue of my car. Everything he is involved in is 1st class.

Thanks for the "props" Coach. It was a pleasure working with you. I love it when wonderful people such as yourself go from a customer to a great friend. I'm looking forward to the next car build with you.
