New to the Forum but not new to Corvettes. Have owned several and currently own a 2005 Sunset Orange Metallic that I bought new in 2005 It has less than 3000 mile on it and is truely perfect. The car is kept at our winter home in Arizona and has never seen rain and only sees the blazing sun in limited amounts. So much for that.
Currently in the market to buy and restore a 1980 or 1981 corvette to restore. If you know of any available that are solid, number matching cars that needs to have the mechanicals rebuilt shoot me the information. As I get into the project I know I will have several questions for you for your advice on the restoration.
Currently I'm in Michigan and want to remind all you Corvette enthusiasts that we have two of the great automotive events in the country coming up over the next two weeks the DREAM CRUISE which takes place along Woodward Avenue August 18 (but you can see some great cars all week cruising Woodward). In addition and sometimes overlooked is the Back to the Bricks Car Show and Cruise in Flint Michigan also on August 18. Both of these events have pre events going on the week prior. If you have never been you have to put this on your bucket list. Both events are not to be missed.

Hope to see you there and glad to be a member of your forum!!!
Great, thanks for the welcome. I just added Great Lakes to my favorites. Do you know if many of the Great Lakes members will be coming to the Dream Cruise or the Back to the Bricks tour? - Rick

Quite a few of them There are a few threads over there with info. Corvettes on Woodward Wednesday is a BIG event. Some of us are meeting up Thursday for the Wixom Performance Build Open House
Do you ever go to Bakers in Milford on Sundays? We meet there too
Come on over to Great Lakes , Post Up and join in the fun
thanks. my vette is currently at our winter home in Arizona however I do have a 93 Trans AM with less than 6K miles on it. I'd love to come and meet you all but didn't know about it since I didn't have the vette here. As to Baker's yes I have been there on Sundays. In fact I was going to go last Sunday except I wasn't sure the weather would hold up and I do not take the TA out in bad weather since the car is perfect. I would probably like some help in the future as I am looking to purchase a C3 vette to work on with my son - he has the great garage and space for it. He is an engineer for GM. So I would be looking to buy a C3 that needs some engine and suspension work. I want the body to be in good condition since I do not want to get into body work. If you know of one let me know. And if I could stop by in my TA to meet you all i will - i do have a diecast model of my car here i can bring that and set it on my dash if it helps!)
fyi i was just over on woodward and already loaded with nice cars, particularly Covettes. Stopped to talk to a group of Corvette owners along Woodward - the Legends Corvette Club. They were out depsite the threatening weather and drizzle. Very nice welcoming group.
