First time vette owner
Hey all. My name is Alex and as of yesterday, I'm a vette owner. I've worked in deaerships and repair shops for quite some time but took off to be the stay at home dad since my wife is a Master Sergeant in the AF. In that time I had my share of F-bodies but none of them seemed to be what I was looking for. Well.....I think I found it in this car. It's FAR beyond anything I've ever had from an F-body. Don't get me wrong....I'd still rock a TA if I wanted to have a nasty drag/street car but for a driver you can't beat a vette.
Now to the important part. The car is a 2001 Z06 with 67K miles on it. It already had some XS power headers and matching catted X-pipe mated up to the stock TI exhaust. In addition, it also sports a C6Z06 shifter that has been retrofitted to the C5. (not to sure if this is true so if someone knows about it, please let me know) It also has the mod red interior which is one thing I've always wanted in a car. It just screams sports car with that set up. Now for the real reason you clicked on my thread...pics. Here's the before and after lowering I did today. Would have been a breeze but one of the front spring bolts was broken and I had to take half the suspension off to thread it in again. Works now.
I also did some "zazzing" up today as well. The OEM guys are gonna hate this but I kinda do my own thing when it comes to my cars. I like to make them my own, tastefully, but still make people ask; is that stock?
