Default I have found home!

Hey guys, my name is Sun and I'm a car enthusiast and occasional Track Day guy and I'm happy to be here.

Shopping for cars is an involved process for me and I usually begin it about 2 years before purchasing. I'm just that choosy.

Here is my current car, a 2011 Hyundai Genesis Coupe Track version:

I had thought my next car was going to be a used 911 but as I researched the cars, mostly on the forums, I realized that most 911 models are unreliable and the models that have the features and reliability I want, like the GT3, are just out of my budget. Not so much for the car purchase price, but the cost of modifications and repairs. A decent full exhaust system cost $12K for instance. And although they were a nice group of fellas they were generally not technically savvy and I didn't enjoy that. I also became increasingly aware that I was WAY out of my income bracket. Some of those guys have $ to just burn and that is not me as I'm just an over the top auto enthusiast.

I had never even considered a Vette because I just haven't liked the aesthetics, size, and image of the car. But as I've looked under the fiberglass, I now realize that the Z06 offers me EVERYTHING that I desire. A cost I can live with. simple design, a reliable engine that is easily replaceable and easily modified, decent mpg, forged wheels stock, trick parts like dry sump and titanium rods, etc... Then I saw the preproduction images and details of the C7 and quickly fell in lust. Smaller size? YES! Even lighter weight? YES! Even better mpg? YES! CF parts available? YES! Dramatically improved interior? Definitely YES!

Anyways, I'm happy to be here and intend to purchase a C7 Z06 in the next 2 years. Thanks for having me.

Welcome to the forum, when you get a chance fill out your City & State. I was in your shoes a few years ago. I was looking for a preowned Lambo, but the repairs and maint. were a little high for me. So I bought a new Vette "Non Z06" in 07 with 2 miles on it, now it has over 140,000 miles on it as my DD.
