I have been a vette nut for most of my life. I purchased my first Corvette in 1969. It was a 1963 Convertible, I paid a the total price of $800.00 dollars for it and i drove it home from a local Chevrolet dealer.
I repainted the car and fixed some minor mechanical problems and then found the cost of insurance for a corvette. From that first purchase i have bought and restored a 1959, 1966, 1968, 1984 which is the car i currently have. I purchased a new 1973, 1981, 1984, 1986 corvettes and enjoyed driveing and maintaining these cars. As a working class person the newer corvettes have been priced out of my reach, but they appear to be very advanced machines from my last new car. I told my wife that when i retired i wanted to do just one more corvette and she purchased a 1984 survivor car for me for my 63rd birthday. I jumped into rebuilding this car in September of 2011 and finished the job in September of 2012. My old body did not want to do the things required as it once did but i made my way to completion including stripping and repainting the car myself. I had not used cc/bc paint before but i fell in love with the results after using the older paint systems before. I love driving the car and still like the looks that people give to a corvette.
