I've waited 5 decades for a Corvette!
For many years, I couldn't buy a Corvette because I needed a family station wagon, or van. Then in later years living in a rural area, I needed a pick-up truck. When a 'Vette was finally viable, the kids were in college, and I didn't have the money.
Well, that's all in the past now. It's my time to start fulfilling some dreams. Just this morning I finally purchased a Corvette. Since I am familar with forum sites because of my computer hobby, I decided to look for an active Corvette site, which landed me here.
Hopefully, I'll learn a thing or three from experienced Corvette owners, and have a place to seek help when I get into trouble, which is inevitable.
So, hello all...

Actually, I just got back from the dealer this morning, after placing the order. And, just in time as well.
Today was the last day the factory will accept orders for a 2013, C6.
I was concerned about trim, and options, because it’s an end run, before the factory closes down to re-tool for the C7. I was very fortunate, because they accepted my entire order exactly as I wanted it.
I can expect delivery around February 10, +/- a few days.
I was also able to have the car built with all the 60th Anniversary emblems, badges, etc., without paying for the 60th Anniversary package, which was ridiculously expensive, and would only be built in White, with dark Blue interior. I wanted Silver, with Black leather interior. So, I was able to get my colors, and options, while retaining most of the special addition items....very happy about that!!!
It's a 2013, Grand Sport Coupe, 2LT, Blade Silver Metallic, with a Black leather interior, Black fender badges, and Black Headlight Bezels. The 430hp engine, manual xmission, Heritage Package, Dual Mode exhaust, Black aluminum wheels, and a few other goodies.
Now I just wait, and waaaaaaait. It’s going to be a long 10 weeks, for sure.

Now all I need to do is figure out how to post photos. Every vBulletin I've seen, has a "Manage Attachments" button below the text field, but I don't see it here???

Thanks
Thanks for the tutorial...if I've done it correctly, this is what my car should look like.
I took these snaps with my cell. phone so they're not the best, but these are the emblems, and Sill Plates, I'm expecting.

Thank you! I'm looking forward to learning more about the car, before I even take delivery. It'll give me a heads up. I've already gotten a lot of my questions answered just by reading through threads.

Thank you both! I feel like a kid on Xmas eve, that can't sleep. I don't know how I'm going to get through the next 2 months waiting for that car!!!

I know what you mean. I am in my sixties and bought my first one, a 94 convertible this September. Live in the northeast and had it shipped from Georgia. It was only a week for the delivery but seemed like much longer. Enjoy the anticipation, it's great just thinking about it, you deserve it!

Seems like I have a lot of company. I'm also in my 60s, took me this long to get one, now I hope I have a few good years left to enjoy it.

Perhaps you or someone else here may be able to answer this question, or direct me to the correct forum for an answer.
I downloaded the 2013 owner's manual last night, and started reading through it.
I found this rather disturbing...
It's hard for me to believe that if I were distracted, and accidentally shifted into second, rather than 4th, that I'd pay for that error with a damaged transmission. It just makes no sense. However, if I'm told that is true, I have to find a way to disable that feature, as priority 1.
