Hi, I've just bought a '93 convertible auto, standard except for 18inch American Racing alloys. Shod with 10 year old (!) 255/40/R18's in front, and 285/35/R18's in back. The suspension rubbers are all tired, possibly the shocks also. The result is a real hard ride on our potholed English roads. We fell into one Christmas day at 70mph, and it felt like we'd broken a wheel!
Do you think replacing the tyres (they're safe, but the rubber is very hard) and bushes would improve things, or would I be better to go back to 17 inch wheels?
Thanks in anticipation of your help, John "maddog" Wyatt.
Thanks guys. The Forum is already proving useful. I'm stuck in the far West of England, so getting answers to Corvette technical problems is not easy. There are hardly any 'vettes here, or people who have any experience of them, so I appreciate all the help.
