Just bought my 1st Vette. Always wanted one but................
I found a nearly untouched 78 25th Anniversary Pace Car with less than 20k miles and needs a magnifying glass to find any dings. Since I got it I have had to do some small tweeks to get it to my cleanliness standards. The tachometer did die on me soon after I got it home and I am researching trouble shooting methodology and parts availability. I am trying to mantain its original parts pedigree so don't want to just replace it. I would appreciate any helpful suggestions from anyone with experience on tach repair. Incidentally the tach just sits dead on zero.
thanks.

I had the same problem. It took me 2 months to get it resolved. It is nearly impossible to get to the back of the Tach but it can b e done. The circuit board was shot. The first one I got from Corvette Central was also defective which was not easy to figure out. They sent me a replacement and and that fixed the problem. The board cannot be repaired and no one will know it is not the original without going thru the nightmare of getting to it. Replace the panel luight bulbs when you are at it. Good Luck! dcmd P.S. Mine has 19.5 k miles.
