Well all the buzz about the C-7 and a lingering desire to own another vette caused me to drop in here. I purchased my first and only vette back in the day (1972) when I came back from Nam. It was a Brands Hatch Green / Saddle interior convertible w/ hardtop LT1 and it was quick as hell, but had way too many issues for me to keep. Time passed on and I have owned a bunch of motorcycles and ended up riding sportbikes which ended badly. I now own (dare I admit it here?) a Honda S2000 which fills my need for speed, but not my need for an American V-8. I am going hang out here until you guys run me off. Just for the record I like to call a spade, a spade. I am not real fond of Cool-Aid so don't expect me to follow the masses if there are logical / good reasons not to. Like any other manufacturer GM can make mistakes and will. I only hope we can keep it real here. I have not been here long enough to tell. Cheers!
Welcome to the forum Chip and thank you for your service
S2000 is a fine automobile. I owned a TT quattro 225 stick up until a year ago. Then I realized I wasn't getting any younger and felt it was time that I treat myself to the car I always wanted. So I sold the TT and picked up a slightly used 2012 Grand Sport. No regrets whatsoever! I hope you find that to be the case if you acquire a Vette.

Rathmullan; Thank you! Your plan sounds a lot like mine, with mine not as fully realized. I am trying to see if the bigger Corvette will fit into my garage next to my S-10 Blazer. The S2000 fits easily, and the dimensions I've found on the C-7 indicate that it will too...I just need to make sure. I was eying a 2012 GS convertible before I heard about the C-7. I like this new car..A lot! I'll wait on the C-7 convertible and see how things work out.
Just be aware, and you can find this info on the various threads here, that if you are inclined to get an automatic this time round (as I was), GM is in the process of developing an 8 speed paddle shifter for the C7 and it appears it will be available for the 2015 model year. I have the upgraded 6 speed auto in my GS and while its not the same as a manny it's a hell of a lot more fun than any tiptronic type transmission I've ever driven. The 8 Speed auto Aisin transmission coming to the C7 ought to be a real blast and a significant performance improvement over the current A6 in the C7 and possibly to the manual 7 speed.
Good to know. I must confess to be intrigued with the thought of a paddle shifted auto. Hell, if it's good enough for Mark Webber and his F1 mates, it's good enough for me.
