Traded in my S2000 for a used 2011 GS Corvette. So far I love the vette but it is way too civilized compared to my old S2k.... The S2k was loud and cornered like it was on rails. It was basically a street legal go cart.
So, I need to make the vette louder for one. Also, is it worth getting an intake like the halltech? I would like to add some ponies but maintain my warranty. I can't tune or mess with smog stuff correct?
If you are just rolling along in second gear, and drop the hammer, that GS should first shred the tires. Second, the computer will activate traction control. Third, you will be doing 80 and stabbing the brake (or seeing blue lights in the rearview). That's what my 07Z does, and I can guess the GS would be similar. I have driven a Hertz edition C6 with paddles and it was crazy fast too.
Louder, you may want. I did headers in the 2004, and it is too loud for casual conversation.
As for warrantee. I would have to say, it would depend on the repair needed. I have had many free fixes to non-engine problems (computer and air conditioner stuff).
Thank you all! I was into the euro scene, then the japan scene. Now I've circled back to the good ol' U.S. of A.
I cant wait to do some fun stuff to the car. The brakes are good, but I would like better rims and tires. I think intake and cat back are in order too. This thing needs to be louder but sound polished too.

Welcome! I am not a fan of GS rims myself, but there are plenty of great rims to choose from for a Vette. I recommend checking out oewheelsllc.com, they've provided new shoes for our Camaro and Vette
If you're looking for more HP I would recommend a full exhaust and maybe throw cutouts on there...loud when you want it, quiet when you need it.
Do you have the dual mode performance exhaust on your GS?
I'm looking at modding my GS as well without risking the warranty or failing emmissions tests. Looking at both the Halltech Super BeeHive and LS7 exhaust to the rear axle. Without a tune those mods seem to be worth about 25 net hp.

I don't so it's way too quiet. From what I've been reading we should be safe doing a cat back. If we start foxing with the cats we might void the warranty. Which makes it hard to do headers.
I'm currently researching if a performance cat replacement will retain the warranty.
As for as I know, catback will not impact warranty. But be skeptical of the manufacturers' claims on horsepower gains. You're unlikely to pick-up any more horepower with the catback than what NPP offers (6 hp and 4 ft. lbs tq). You could still do the the LS7 exhaust and cats and add the cat back system without worrying about failing emissions testing. It wouldn't be cheap but would probably be worth 15 hp. The LS7 manifolds are actually "shorty headers).
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
