So, this is the first forum I have ever joined. No, I am not computer illiterate, I just don't like to spend a lot of time on them. I have been searching this forum for help for the last few months and it has been so helpful, I decided to register.
I have wanted a C-3 since I was about 8 years old. (I am 40 now) and finally at a point where I can afford to get one. The 80-82 front end has always been my favorite but I also like the classic chrome bumper look. And of course I had to have a convertible. So I ended up with a '70 convertible with an '81 front end painted the '82 Silver Beige Metallic. I know you chrome bumper enthusiasts will cringe at this but I really don't care about collector value, and I love this look.
The suspension was in trouble so I have been rebuilding it. I made my own adjustable rear strut rods from parts from Summit. (after reading about it n this forum) and after replacing some bushings, the rear end is pretty tight. The front is a whole other story. After realizing that the springs are shot, All the bushings need replaced, the sway bar is undersized and tweaked, I started doing the math. By the time i replaced all this I was almost at the price of the front Mono spring conversion from VBP so that is now the direction I am going, once again after reading all the positive reviews on them.
I am also redoing the brakes, (o-ring) some of the wiring and probably a lot more but I have exhausted mt budget for now (my wife thinks I have gone over it) so most of the rest will be down the road. Anyway, I have been rambling on so time to get back to the garage
