Hi there, I'm Fred and I have never owned a Vette, but I have the bug. I do have a 1959 TR-3, but I want something with more muscle and that doesn't break every weekend! I live in Orange County, CA.
The question I have for the group is I found a seller with a 1965, clear titled, recent restoration Stingray. Exactly what I want. The problem is he is way out of state. The other problem is the price is crazy low, $29k including shipping/handling. He says for shipping he will use a voucher and the transaction will be closed through a 3rd party (the Protection Program offered by Amazon Payments). Is anyone familiar with this process? Is it trustworthy? Just seems like too good of a deal. I'd love to hear your thoughts.
I own and operate a british and repair facility in the S.F. bay area and i do know how tempermental your car is but that's what keeps me in buisness

I love my TR3, and so does my local mechanic. Thanks for the warm welcome!
Back on topic, what is the general opinion regarding drivability upgrades? I found a numbers matching '65, but without power steering. The dealer said they can assist with installing aftermarket powersteering. Does that affect the colectability/value?
