Hello my name is Diane and I live in Arizona. My husband decided it was time for me to become a Corvette owner. He searched high and low and was able to find a Black 1984 Corvette with less than 55,000 miles!
The car is in real nice shape for a car 30 years old and has always been maintained perfectly. We bought it from the second owner who has had it since 1990. The gentleman is the current Colorado Rockies First Base Coach and he is here for spring training. The reason for the low miles is he only drove it while here for MLB spring training and when his team played our local Diamondbacks during the season. Before Coach Lachemann bought it the car was owned by one of his players who now is in the Hall of Fame.
The original owner of my Corvette was Milwaukee Brewer Player Robin Yount. Mr Yount bought the car in Wisconsin from Selig Chevrolet. Yes its the same Selig that is now the Commissioner of Baseball, and was the owner of the Brewers and boss of Mr. Yount at the time of purchase.
I absolutely love the history this car has, and my husband and I are anxious to learn all we can about this Corvette (C4) and all the other types too. My husband is a Mustang guy and always will be but he is willing to let another brand into his heart because he fell in love with this car the very first time he saw her. I must admit I am a bit jealous but he's hardly going to drive her because she's mine. He will do all the stuff he loves, change oil, rotate tires, wash and wax, fill with gas, etc.
I like to help with the bigger jobs, like brakes and stuff. We just upgraded the brakes on his mustang, which took a whole weekend LOL
I look forward to doing the same kind of work on the Vette. We just want to be careful and not change to much because she is pretty much all original equipment. The only things we know for sure that are swapped out are the seats and radio and Mr. Lachemann has the originals and will get those to us soon. I'm not sure about the exhaust system because it's kinda loud so it may not be the stock one unless thats just the way these cars are. It even louder than my Husbands Mustang and he has a supercharger and 475 hp!
Well I think I've said enough for now and look forward to talking to all of you.
