Hello all. Recently found the site and I am really digging all the info and knowledge here. I am returning to cars after years of flying and offshore fishing. Somehow compared to those hobbies, Corvettes seem very reasonable!
Back in the day I had couple '67-'69 Camaros. About 12 years ago and without a project or fun car I decided I wanted to pick up a '69 or '70 big block C3 convertible. Somehow that search led to buying a '70 Trans Am in California and dragging it back to Houston, then restoring it, then eventually selling it.
Along the way I've had a C4, C5 and a C6. But I still wanted that big block C3 convertible. The last few years I would casually check out the usual sources and see what's out there. Last week I saw an ad for a '71 coupe with a 454 and 4spd not far away at a great price. Did a search and found this site, real quickly was aware of areas of concern with these C3's, (thanks)
Went and looked at the car and while the price was good, it was a major mess from the guy who owned it doing horrible work on it for 10+years, no sale.
But....hearing that sweet big block idle hooked me bad!!!
My search has intensified and hope to find my new project soon, will post it here when I do.
