Hello!...currently I'm a Porsche owner...2012 Carrera GTS with factory aerokit, PDK transmission, stock 6 point harness seats and some aftermarket goodies for handling and safety at the track.
Ive owned Corvette's in the past:
1987 w/ Doug Nash 4+3
1992 Z51
1999 Z51
My current Porsche is my 6th Porsche and they all have been great car, well built, reliable and fun. However I still like the Vette's especially interested in the new C7 Vette.
My main reason moving to Porsche was some bad dealer experiences and brake issues with the last Vette I had. I got more into offshore boats and lost some interest in sports cars and my wife still wanted a sports car and she liked the Porsche's.
In the last 8 yeas I've been involved in high performance track events...DE's. I've learned a lot about driving, myself and made a lot of friends at the track. 10 years ago I was involved in a bad motorcycle accident where I got hit and had my entire left leg amputated. I got back into sports cars but needed a good transmission I could use with out a clutch pedal. So Porsche was the answer especially with the PDK rev matching race inspired PDK transmission.
I'm hoping Corvette comes out with a Porsche PDK/ Ferrari F1 type of transmission.
Welcome to the forum - I'm new myself. Regarding Porsches, they are building a new US headquarters here in Atlanta about a 1/4 mile from my home. It will have a customer testing facility like they have in Germany - so you can run it fast like you are on the autobahn. They only recently broke ground, so will be another year or so before its operational, but I really want to try it out once it's open.
