Generic intro title here.
Anyway, I joined with the original intentions a few years ago that I was going to buy a 300zx Twin Turbo. Got stationed in Germany, so I put that on hold, and bought this after my first deployment.

(That was my BMW behind it too. Just my DD while I was in Germany)
The Ninja kept me happy for my time there, and was a TON of fun on the Autobahn. I changed out some of the cosmetics on it and threw on an exhaust. Right now it's in storage, and the plastics are all removed and about to be repainted. Just have to pick a color.
Before I left Germany, I flew home and bought this sight unseen (after tons of research and phone calls to the dealer). Decided before I buy a money pit, I ought to have a good DD. I wanted something that looked decent, had good gas mileage and was quick for when I needed to get on it. So I picked up a low mileage 03 Golf GTI.

And seeing as I can't leave anything alone, I immediately began tearing into it. First thing I did was install a system. Didn't wanna lose trunk space since it was my DD, so I made my own custom sub box, ran everything clean and was happy.

Fiberglass sub box made to fit in the old amp compartment, and the amps are on a shelf under the hatch cover.
I went back to Germany for a couple months, and it sat, and I got the next batch of parts. Coilovers, sway bar, new wheels and tires, and a few other goodies. Mostly cosmetic. Didn't want to mess with power mods since it was my DD. Once all was said and done, I had this.

I deployed earlier this year, and decided it was time to shop around. A deal came up, and happened to be very close to my hometown back in Ohio, so I had a buddy check out the 02 C5 Z06. Everything was good to go, so I flew another friend in from DC and had him pick it up. It's now sitting in his dads garage in Ohio with my GTI.

02 with 54k miles. My buddy said it's very well taken care of. I can't wait to get back and detail it and see how much fun it is.
And so it sits for the next couple months waiting for me to get back and enjoy it. Haven't had the car two days and I already ordered a B&B Bullet Dual Tip catback exhuast for it, along with a MGW Short Shifter. It already has a K&N intake, so next thing will be wheels and tires. I'm sure I'll have them waiting for me when I get back, because I'm impatient like that.
So here's to a long time enjoying my new toy.
And last thing, which I'm sure most of the gear heads here will appreciate, is that I do all my own mods. I'm too proud and too cheap to pay someone to do something I figure I can "probably" do. Very mechanically inclined, so I have a blast working on my stuff and digging into everything.

EDIT: Aaaaaaaand, they're sold out everywhere. Decided on the 19x11 +64 for the rear, with 18x9.5 +54 up front. Unfortunately the 19x11's are sold out everywhere for the next few months. So I wait.
