New Corvette owner! Thrilled!
Hey everyone,
Great site and very helpful - even before i purchased my Vette - thanks!
Picked up my silver automatic 98 C5 about a month ago from Corvette Mike's - Corvette Dealership - down in Plymouth Ma - I live in Newton MA near Boston. 66,000 mile car - that these guys had gotten on trade in from original owner - then sold to other couple who owned it many years - then they traded it in on newer Vette.
I have owned a lot of cars over the years - and this is my favorite one by far so far!
Long time import owner -- 92 Eagle Talon - drag raced that car and went 9.7 at 148 mph - car was also a Sunday driver -- but not a fun one! www.punisher-racer.com
The C5 is not as fast - but a lot more satisfying and fun to drive.
Bought it stock - but added the SLP Blackwing intake filter and Varam intake tube - added the Billy Boat Rt. 66 exhaust - and the Hypertech tuner for the motor and transmission. Also got rid of the worn out F45 suspension and replaced it with the C6 Z06 suspension.
Have always wanted a corvette since my best friends mom had one when we were in highschool - a 76.
Bought a set of wagon wheel Vette rims and BFG drag radials in 17" size. Going to use 17"s on the rear with the drag radials -- Thinking of heading up to New England Dragway this Wednesday and see how it does and how it feels.
Future hopes include maybe a 100 shot of nitrous - and maybe a procharger - maybe change the rear gearing - my car has the 2.72's - maybe switch to 3.15 or even 3.42's - not sure yet.
