First Vette
Hello, Jeff here.
So I am the new owner of a 2007 VY Z51 M6 Corvette with 14k miles. It is an interesting story, this vette was a gift that my mother gave my father for his 64th bday. It was his 3rd vette after a '74 and an '88. He travels a lot and also has a 2001 Miata that is his airport car. They bought another house that needs a lot of work and so they decided to sell the vette since it hardly got used and put the money into the new digs. They made me a good deal on it so they could use it 1 or 2 times a year for a weekend to Tahoe or Carmel.
I started tracking in 2000, became an HPDE instructor in 2002 and started club racing in 2003. I am a nationally certified Porsche instructor and am also the chief driving instructor for the largest private track club in Nor Cal. I currently own two race prepared Miatas and a street going 2002 supercharged Miata that sees occasional track time. My biggest concern with purchasing the vette was that I would want to turn it into a serious track machine and as everyone knows Speed = $$$$.
So far I really enjoy just cruising in the vette, it is a bit more roomy than the Miata and a bit more comfortable. I also handles the straights a bit better than the Miata.
