I have been following the forum for several months while doing research trying to decide whether to go for a Porsche Cayman or a Corvette. I have admired both for many years and now am finally in a position to own one. After reading so many positive posts on the Corvette, (and many not so positive on the Porsche) I took the plunge. Two days ago I located a great deal on a new GS and drove it off the lot with 30 miles on the odometer. Today I logged the 600th mile. I simply can't get away from it. If I'm not driving, I'm waxing. I've owned British, German, and even a Japanese (S2K), but nothing compares to this. We live in the foothills of the Smokies, so I took a few back roads that I loved to drive in my S2k. The g's that I felt in the curves in the S are non existent in GS. Of course when it comes to acceleration---what can I say. I'm taking it easy on her during break in and can't imagine what it will be like after a few more miles. Sure wish I would have known this sooner. Thanks to all of the members here. My decision is based on input from you. Gotta go take a drive. I look forward to learning much over the next many years.
