Just ordered my new Corvette . . . Roger
Retired, 72 . . . and it is time to drive a Corvette in my life, so I ordered one yesterday.
My first car was back in 1961, a 1956 MGA (found this on the web) go to:

Since then all of my cars have been to take people places. Serving as a clergy, Air Force Chaplain for 20 years, and as a pastor again. Now retired . . . I can get back to my love of feeling the road.
I have been looking, talking to others, and reading about getting a new car since last October. Car Show in San Antonio. Searching the web and so on.
I had moved it down to: Corvette, Porsche (Boxster or Cayman), Infiniti (new) Q50, or the new Lexus IS 350.
Two key things happened to make my decision:
1. A good friend at the local Acura dealership, who I purchase my last car in 2007, and have a personal relationship with – said something on our fifth or sixth conversation over these last several months. “Get the car you really want, because if you settle for anything else you will not get over it.”
2. I drove the new Infiniti Q50 and the new Lexus IS 350 – and they were nice comfortable rides in really nice cars. BUT – when I got home I said to my wife, “Really nothing special. They were nice, comfortable, and have great navigation and all, but boring. Just $50,000 for a boring car. And, terrible colors; I wanted something special.”
See, one can read reviews, reports, but driving the cars makes the difference.
The Porsche was eliminated because of trunk (front and back) not working for me, and the upkeep assuming I pass this along to my son some day.
So, last Saturday, I knew my choice would be the 2014 Corvette – and just wait for it to be built. Ordered yesterday.
Two weeks ago, I gave my 2007 Acura TSX with only 50,000 miles on it to my son (34). So my wife and I will drive on one car till my new one is built. She is recovering from foot surgery and cannot even drive or walk for another 3 or 4 weeks.
Oh, I ordered the Torch Red with Red seats, 3LT, Dual Mode, Automatic, and Museum Delivery.
Thoughts . . . . suggestions . . .
Roger
