Hi
The name is Paul and I'm the new member and owner of a NTM 86 Convertible, 3d owner I believe. I've wanted a Vette since I first saw the 54's (yes I'm that old) when I was 5. It's taken me this long to find a Vette I like and can afford.
I wanted a S.W. car because of all the issues with rust damage on frames, along with one that wasn't a potential flooded reconstruction. I wanted something I could drive now and improve as time goes on.
I found this one at a car auction in Albuquerque, N.M. with 77K miles and had my auto dealer friend make the purchase for me. I had no issues of consequence on the 1300+ miles driving it home, making it home in 2 days. Not bad, got a 32 mpg best on the trip home.
It's already had the 4+3 transmission changed out with a 5 speed (a T5 or Tremec I suspect) with a Hurst shifter. Drives great and is the starting point I wanted. After I finish changing out all the fluids and doing a tuneup, I suspect the only thing I'll need to do is replace the bushings and ball joints in the suspension to tighten it up.
PS It does look great garaged next to my 94 T-Bird!
