Whats up everyone. I'm new here but not totally new to Corvettes. I owned a gorgeous Yellow 1980 from 1998-2005. I can say that that car and the time I owned it in was the time of my life. I was 23 when I got it, imagine that. At any rate, I sold it in 05 and bought equipment to start a business.

Business is great and I decided to pick up another 80 and build it the way I want it. I have owned my 92 Typhoon since 2003 and have brought it a LONG way, I am hoping to apply my knowledge and know how to this car as I pretty much destroyed my old Vette.

Here are the plans,
LSX
Turbo
4L80e
Flared
Yellow (millennium)
totally custom interior (mostly sheet metal I'm thinking)

What I am not sure about;
suspension, either get a C5 roller with engine and all which will be a TON of work
C4 suspension which nets me the same amount of work but like the idea of sticking with stock rear suspension.
I definitely am going to cut out the shock towers and box the frame in and run coil overs. From what I remember on mine, I had a lot of issues in that area and would rather not deal with them again.

Or, I could buy all the aftermarket suspension stuff to run the coil overs and save the work time.

My main reason for considering C5 or C4 suspension is to widen the track so I can run either 199X ZR1 wheels or the C5 Z06 wheels without using spacers or having clearance issues. To fit them in to the body, the flares will be done "tastefully" so that it will look like it supposed to be this way.

So I joined this site in hope to get some good ideas and get some good Vette knowledge along the way. I hope I can help out as much I am helped.

Here is my pile. I bought a roller on purpose, I wanted something that wouldn't kill me to make custom.

The pan is to get the Ty done ( just a few more things to do ) and start the Vette by the end of the year.

Welcome to the Forum and good luck on your project

Looking at the pictures and thinking about all the work made me so tired that I'm going to lay down and take a nap. I'd love to see it when finished.
