Hello everyone. I'm a Pontiac guy at heart but have always desired a Corvette. Retired now and building a '63 Pontiac Catalina. I've been a motor head all my life and don't plan to quit yet.
I want to pick up a mid to late C4. I've been reading up a little and seem to be narrowing it down to a '89-'90. I plan to do mods and maybe even an engine change involving a turbo charger so I have to be able to get it registered and licensed here, without emissions. To do that I have to use collector insurance so they exempt the car. Not sure where that year is that they accept the collectors insurance. I only mention that as it may be the deciding factor in what year Vette I purchase. I suspect 25 or older which takes me to an '88 or possible '89-'90 if I delay any mods that would take me out of the testing.
Anywho. I've been looking at some of the info trying to make up my mind what to be aware of as far as potential problems, what is best and what may be troublesome. Just wanted to chime in and say thanks for having a great forum to look at and maybe even contribute to in the future. Enough yakkin'. Thanks everyone and hello Vette world. Mark L
