New here with a problem
86 4/3 tranny decided to stop working while driving and also I had smoke coming up thru the console..it was working perfect before.but I take in mind I just bought this car and maybe put 50 miles on it..im thinking very bad news..Can I keep driving this car without using the overdrive?? it shifts just fine..thanks

two wires from shifter .I took them out went for a ride and touched them together,light came on and overdrive worked perfect.ill connect them back this winter but for now I need to take care of this SURGING problem..thanks for all the help
