Default Hello from SoCal

Greetings from SoCal!

I am chronic gear head that has been into everything from import to diesel performance. I sold my last project in 2011 and have been restless ever since. It was an '05 Ford F250 Crew Cab 6.0 Diesel that ran mid-13's at a race weight of 7,650lbs with bolt-ons and single stage of spray. While there is nothing quite like diesel power, I have recently acquired a taste for a fast sports car. I am a drag racer at my core but I've always loved rowing gears through the twisties as well. I want something the wife and I can cruise the coast in on the weekends that doesn't require two parking spaces if we want to stop for lunch. Looking forward to learning a new vehicle platform and this forum looks like the best for Vettes.

I have about $20K to spend initially so looking at C5's. What should I look for as the foundation for my next build?
