Hi! My friends call me Leaps and I just bought my first corvette at age 66. It's in rough shape but I have nothing but time on my hands and will do all I am capable of doing to get the old girl back in good shape. She is an 89 base convertible w/75K on the odometer and an automatic so my wife can enjoy driving it. My first job is to remove the greenwood effects then clean and seal the interior with new weather stripping and put on two new front tires then put her on the rack and change all fluids fluids and filters, lube and tune her up and get her ready for spring and some shake down cruises. I've named her Janice after a girl from Texas whom I had a crush on in the 60's and I'm going to give her a good home. I am a retired electrician and I am happy to join the community.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome to cf. Just ordered all new weatherstripping from an outfit called Bethel's Goat farm. Ever hear of them? I think I got a good deal. The complete kit with 13 pieces is $467 plus shipping. My first time dealing with this vendor.

Welcome. This is a great forum. I'm 62 and on my first "modern" Corvette-a 06 C6. Had 2-63's and a 75 in the past. Loved them all. Have fun with Janice....
