Default Back in the Saddle Again!

After 35 years I've rejoined the ranks of Corvette owners. My first Corvette was a new 1965 roadster purchased in the spring of 1966.( I REALLY wish that I had not sold it) It was a Blue/Blue 365HP, M21 4 speed with factory air, power windows, white rag top AND hardtop. I try NOT to think of it's current value. Second Vette was a 1959 with a 283 4 speed that I completely restored in 1973. Rode like a log wagon as I recall. Current Corvette is a low mile Magnetic Red 1999 model. It is a base model loaded out with EVERY available factory option with the exception of the magnetic ride control. All I can say after one week of driving it is: WOW!!! This is the first American iron that I have owned in over 30 years. ( yes I do still love my Lexus LS ) I completely understand now that the C5 is an automotive game changer. This is the car that rendered every previous Corvette obsolete and transformed the iconic American sports car into a world class supercar. No wonder that SAE International distinguished the 1999 Corvette as the best engineered car of the 20th Century! Hence, I an very happy to be "Back in the Saddle Again"!

Thanks for the warm welcome!!! I'm very happy to be connected to other Corvette lovers in this fabulous forum. I particularly pleased to be able to tap into such a vast database of useful information. Maybe as a lifelong owner/operator of an independent auto repair shop (now retired) I will be able to make a useful contribution to others on this site from time to time. Thanks again for the welcome and "HO HO HO Merry Xmas to all!
