R. Chevrolet Customer Care. Great to see Chevrolet checking into the Corvette Forum. I don't know how much attention Chevrolet pays to customer comments, but I have one that I'll pass along. After I bought my wife's 2003 Vette we had a problem with mice getting into the heat and A/C system because evidently Chevrolet decided the outside air entrance didn't need a screen or filter. We had a mouse get into the system and build a nest in the blower compartment and when I started the car the mouse was mutilated and caused a mess. This happened twice before we finally got rid of the mouse population. The lack of a two dollar component cost me thousands to repair and get rid of the smell. Shortly after the incidents I passed my concern to Chevrolet, but never heard anything from them. I certainly hope the new C7 takes into consideration this one small problem and provides some sort of protection to keep varmits, leaves, etc. out of the outside air intake for the heat and A/C system.
VernH,

William R. The VIN for our 2003 Corvette is 1G1YY32G835117932. It has been several years since I submitted my concern so I'd be more interested in knowing why an engineer would not consider covering any outside entrances where mice etc might enter the car. I also have a 1991 Firebird that has the same problem. Got in the car the other day and two mice popped their heads out of the dash top windshield defroster. This may not be a problem for some people, but I live near a large woods and when winter comes the mice look for a secluded place to nest. Sure makes a mess if they get into the upholstery or worse yet become victim of the fan motor. Thanks a lot for your consideration.
