Default Need help on my first car!!!

So for some background information for you guys, I am 17 getting my license in 3 months and already looking for my first car that I want but this summer no later than the first day of my senior year. I have some money saved up but not a crazy amount so I cannot spend too much on this car yet. I plan on turning this into a running project car that I will put some money into but a few years after highschool I will be getting a 1969 Camaro and dropping a 440 in it ! But in the mean time I figured this would be the best place to get advice on which corvette to get.

I am talking to 2 people right now each selling their corvettes one is a C3 I believe and the other a C4.

The C3 which is a 1979 Corvette (correct me if I am wrong) only has 167 Miles, V8, Manual, Bucket Seats, L82 4 speed, Acrylic T-Tops, Boston Acoustic Speakers, New Battery, Edelbrock Intake and Carb, and original L82 aluminum intake and quadrajet and is being sold for $6,500. A lot of this sound like Blah Blah Blah to me as I am not yet that great with cars I just know what I want as a dream car.

The C4 1985 (once again correct me if I am wrong) has 102,000 miles on it V8, Manual, 4 speed, New rebuilt L98 motor with less than 2k miles on it, High performance pistons, high pressure oil pump, upgraded camshafts, heavy duty timing chain, high performance fuel injectors, new clutch, new water pump and, brakes with less than 2k miles which is going for $5,700.

Since I am very new to the car world I wanted to ask some of the more experienced people out there to help me out. Thanks in advance cant wait to get some info!

welcome to the forum!

Just lurk the C3 and C4 sections of the forums and you will get all the info you will need.

Good luck and take pictures of your project as you go so you can share the progress.
