Default 4th Corvette, New to Forum

Hey Gang, Hello from N. Texas. I'm not new to owning Corvette's,My first was a 76 small window and I certainly wished I had kept it. I was working for a insurance company that provided cars to investigators and it just sit in my driveway so I placed a add for sale or trade and another older corvette owner came by to look at my 76 and wanted it too. He was like me a working stiff and could not afford 2 Corvettes but said he could join the Southern California Corvette club with the 76 as it was more collectable than his metallic Blue 84. I liked the color and room inside the 84 and suggested a small cash advance and a trade and we traded cars.
A divorce forced the sell of that one shortly after I got it. Other corvetters told me the cross fire injected motors were nightmares but that one ran like a top, I was sad to see it go. I moved to the Mountains to a isolated community called Pine Mountain Club and started looking for another vette to take those mountain roads in and found one in Bakersfield strangley enough it was the same metallic Blue and it ran even better than the first one also a 84. At the time I still had the insurance car so the Vette sat in the garage and only came out on weekends. That 84 was made for those mountain roads and on Sundays I would take a show of ride down the Mountain to Frazier Park, Ca for breakfast and see how fast I could get back. My goal was to beat my record each time without killing myself. Loved that car.
Currently I live in Denison,Tx and I am semi retired and usually only work a day or so a week for spending money and now for upgrades to my latest Corvette purchase. I was 69 this March the 21st and I decided that it was time to have another Vette so I searched the on line listings and compiled a list of what I wanted and what the Bank would finance and the two didn't match. So one more time I have to modify my plan for retirement. As you can tell I'm not a full fledged mechanic or a perfectionist but I did stumble on to a plan. I wanted a Corvette collector car that would allow me to go to the local car shows and swap meets yet be in my price range. Here is my plan: I shopped and shopped and found a 95 Convertible in Oklahoma that is purple in color, I had never seen one that color and I figure it will allow me to park inside and bring my lawn chair and 6 pack of Colorado coolaid my straw hat and allow me to sit and talk Cars for as long as I damn well please. I have a few things to do to the 95 before I show it off but that gives me something to scheme on with all this extra time on my hands now.

Thanks Eric I appreciate your note. I wanted one like yours but figured I would never get it paid for before I woke up dead some day. I'm old the 95 is old we sort of fit together.

Thanks for your contact Brandon, I grew up in Dallas but went away to school and ended up in Ventura,Ca doing Cop work but now back in Texas the last 4 years. Its good to be back but I will not be saying that next month when its 100 degrees every day. My 95 corvette was my Birthday present to myself. Never had time before to join a club or forum before but I have some issues to solve and lots of how to questions. Hope to find them on this forum

Default Thanks for the welcome

Thanks for the welcome, I'm a long winded kind of a guy I ramble on a lot most times. When I figure out how to ask the appropriate
Vette owners I have lots of How to questions to ask.

Default Thank you Sir

M2k2ind;1586862220]

Thank you Sir, Yes I think your right, I went to a swap/car show at the Texas Motor Speedway and they had a lot of racing spirit. You racing guys have more spirit and money to spend on your rides than a old retired Texas boy just back from 40 years in California exile. I was a poor boy and if I broke my ride I had to fix it so I treated my cars pretty good then and I suspect at my age Ill only be racing in my dreams.

Thanks for the welcome I spent a life time in Southern California. I have some good Vette stories from California but I have never been to South Carolina but some day I hope to visit all the places I have never been.
