Default New C7 Owner!

Two months into owning one of the most exciting cars I have had to date - and I have had a LOT of them over the past 40 years. I have been an avid VW/Audi enthusiast too. Had Z28s back in the late 70's - Chevy has come a long way with this new car!

Welcome! I too have enjoyed the vw/audi products; solid cars. But there's nothing like the power you get from this chevy, is there?

Get a photobucket account and post pictures on the C7 forum in an introductory type post. You'll get many congratulatory comments. It'll feel great.

My first choice was Cyber Gray but it got sold before I could secure it at the dealer. I have Arctic and love it - white is one of our favorites too. Loving the car - just hope it is not going to spend time at the dealership due to first year bugaboos.....3K so far and not trouble yet. Yours doing ok?

White C7s look great. The proportions on the car lend themselves well to the black accents. The white seems to pop more than the darker colors. I'm sure I don't have to tell you as you probably have your fill of people telling you how good it looks whenever you take it out.

I mostly bought the car because of the way it drives, the attention it brings is almost too much for me.

I had a 2009 vette before this and before getting the new Stingray, I test drove an Audi S5 v8 2010, just because they are so darn good looking. I just couldn't get past the lack of power though. Once you get used to the powerful torque/thrust of a modern vette, I would think it would be hard for anyone to own something else.

After 2 months and 2 thousand miles, I am very happy I traded in a perfectly reliable, whiplash inducing C6. The steering, ride and cornering of this 2014 is so much better than an already good C6.

I have had zero problems with it, had none on my last vette.

So you've had many cars including early chevy muscle? Pretty cool you came back to American after the VW/Audi stint.

This new Corvette is pretty special, so glad Chevy took it seriously. Pretty amazing how it can be so docile and smooth yet so violent when you put your foot in it.

You are right, GM really set out o make a "world class" product and they did it! We still have an A5, 2 GTIs, a Jetta, 2Cabrios, and a Dodge Grand Caravan, so my wife and two grown kids are still pretty much into German Cars. I like what I have seen so far of the MK3 TT which is not introduced yet. If the Vette becomes troublesome, it could morph into the new Audi, but if it holds up well, I will stay a Corvette convert forever. You are correct, white really pops and brings on the "Rockstar Effect". A good friend of mine just got a Blade Silver '14 with factory body stripes and red leather that maybe doesn't seem to grab people as much. Nonetheless, it is gorgeous and to me, actually prettier than my "plain" one.

I like all the attention! It will fade and be gone in a year or so but it is fun while it lasts!

I like your style! I do love those GTIs and I've come so close to getting a TT.

Traditionally the vettes have been reliable, maintenance is almost nothing compared to the audi's (I had an A4 and many bugs). I think by reading the forum and hearing of all the problems, it sets us up in our mind that we're next for the problems. Many, many owners of the redesign 2005 C6 were trouble free.

I have a good feeling about the reliability prospects of our new Stingrays. GM didn't want to jeopardize their 60 plus years halo car redesign by putting out something half baked. A new name model car, who knows? But their pride and joy Corvette? It had to be right. They had too much to lose if they put out something not right.

Good for you for breaking from the family tradition of VW, you are the main man, the papa, why shouldn't you have the strongest car

We DO rack the miles! This weekend my wife, Amy, and I are going to the big SoWo VW/Audi event over in the north Ga mountains in Helen, Ga and we will take the 'Ray! So there goes another 1,000 miles! In September we want to go on the cruise to Bowling Green with the Vette club too!

By the way, I added the heavy duty Z51 sway bars to my car last week....car corners flat - like a go cart now! Have you done any mods?

Thanks for the welcome! Is this your first Corvette? How many miles have you accumulated? Any problems? Manual tranny? Do you plan to go on the group ride in August to Bowling Green?
