Greetings Corvette Forum!

I first want to say Thank You to those that make this place available: it's already been an invaluable resource in the short time I've had my car.

A little about me:
Single, nearly-30 man doing engineering for a living. What started with a little red Hot Wheels car became an obsession; as a kid when my parents asked me what I wanted for Christmas/Birthday, the first thing was always "my corvette." This was always met with a chuckle followed by "what else?" Since then, since I was 4 years old, I said I would own that car one day and after over 20 years I finally got it about 6 weeks ago.

A little about my car:
1976 Stingray, L48, power steering, power brakes, Tilt-tele, A/C, power windows, THM350, presumably 3.08 gears. 68000+ miles. The engine is not original, nor the transmission, although I believe the Q-jet is.

Build date D04: Nov. 4 1975
Trim code 192: Deluxe Black Leather interior.
Paint code: 56L Bright Yellow. It's not yellow anymore though. Sometime ago it was painted 1984 GM Flame Red

It's in pretty good shape to my untrained eye, but does need some love. The paint was pretty poorly done. It looks good from 10 feet, but get closer and the runs, orange-peel, overspray and spider-webbing become readily apparent. For what I paid however, I expected some work. Right now it looks decent enough so I'm focused more on getting it into a safe, reliable driver condition. The carb needs work, I think; based on pictures of others mine seems to have a few parts either bent, broken or missing. The compressor and condenser are gone, but the hoses, the VIR unit and heater core are still in place. The brakes are squishy, but serviceable. All the important lights work; the seatbelts however do not.

I could continue the laundry list of issues this car has, but I fear I've bored you folks enough already.

Attached below are two pictures: the first is of the little car that started the obsession, and the second a picture of the dream.

Thanks again.
