Greetings from So. Cal
Living here in California, I wasn't surprised to be getting scowls from Smart Car or Prius drivers. Yesterday, I got my dream car. It's just another red, 05 rag-top, but it really is my dream car.
When I was 14 or 15, a neighborhood lad and I went with his mother to see the newest thing from Chevy. It was white with s little in-line six, and looked a bit like an inverted bath tub, but that 1954 Corvette was something special. My next encounter was in 1957. On displayin a shopping center was a red/white Corvette announcing that it had a 283 cid engine rated at 283 hp. In 63 and 64 I worked as a nechanic at a Chevy dealer and drove a bunch of them. I thought the split window 1963 to be ugly, but I really liked the 1964 model. Most were that blue-grey color.
Bottom line, after a 60 wait, I pulled the trigger on nice C6. I traded a 2011 diesel dually, also red. Loved the truck but that DEF injection system is not ready for prime time. A constant battle with CEL codes.
My C6 isn't perfect, but after waiting 60 years, the heck with the haters that scowl and give me dirty looks.
